When Microsoft Word is open, instead of saving the file to your local computer and then uploading it, save it directly to SharePoint.
Have the document open. Select the File > Save As option.
In the FILE NAME box, enter the full web address for the SharePoint Site and press Enter. Wait a moment.
The Site, with its lists and libraries, will appear in the Save As window. Double click the library you want and wait a moment.
When the correct library opens, select Save.
