Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) or Office 2019 – Which Is the Course for You?

Welcome to the new office.

Cloud-based subscription software has become mainstream and we at JN Software and CompuEase are very happy to offer our new series of Microsoft 365 training courses to help you with upgrading your software needs.

What are some of the advantages of using Microsoft 365?

And what are some of the benefits you can look forward to by taking one of our new Microsoft 365 courses?

But wait a moment… We often get asked about the difference between Microsoft 365 and Office 2019. Which one is better for you or your business?

Microsoft 365 is a cloud-based subscription service that ensures you always have the most up-to-date modern productivity tools from Microsoft. New features or functions are added progressively with the subscription purchase. There are Microsoft 365 plans for home and personal use, as well as for small and midsized businesses, large enterprises, schools, and non-profits. You can install Microsoft 365 on your PC and it also includes web-based access to the traditional Office applications like Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. The web-based versions are a bit more limited in functionality than the desktop versions, but you have the added convenience of being able to access them from your PC, phone, tablet or other mobile devices. In addition, you get access to a wide range of other web-based apps and services like Teams, Yammer, Stream, Sway and so on.

Office 2019 is sold as a one-time purchase of just the Office desktop apps for one computer. This means you pay a single, up-front cost to buy the software for one or more licenced computers. However, there are no upgrade options. So if you plan to upgrade to the next major release, you’ll have to buy it at full price. You will still receive ongoing security updates with Office 2019, but you won’t get any of the new features or functions that may come with Microsoft 365.

The way we work is different now than the way we did things even in the recent past.

  • More of us access email on our devices rather than on our computers.
  • We work more as teams and collaborate on documents and spreadsheets while on the go.
  • We still want to work on larger screens at our desktop, but we also want to use our phones and other mobile devices to continue working from elsewhere or while offline.

Our new 1-day Microsoft 365 training will help make your work life easier and enable you to work more effectively whether in or out of the office. We’ll teach you how to work confidently with the Microsoft online apps such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and OneNote, communicate with colleagues using Yammer, Newsfeed and Teams, as well as store, organize, and share files using OneDrive for Business, SharePoint, and the Delve.

Of course, most businesses still use the perpetual licencing versions of Microsoft Office based in the workplace. We are also very happy to now offer our Office 2019 training courses that will get you up and running with this new productivity suite.

  • Are you new to Office and want to get up to speed with some of the basics?
  • Has it been a while since your last training session and you’d like to take a refresher and also learn some of the new features?
  • Are you an experienced Office user who would like to learn some of the new techniques or tools in the latest versions of the programs you use?

Whatever the case, you can come to us for the help you want. Our Microsoft 365 or Office 2019 training will help you feel more comfortable, make your work life easier, and enable you to work with confidence.

We have lots of experience in providing software training that works. One of our consultants would be very happy to help you set up the training you really need when you need it.
